Let’s face it, Houston is well known as being one of the fattest cities in the States. I think we are home to the deep fried butter, fried twinkies, fried cookie dough, fried banana split, and chicken fried bacon. Obesity leads to many health related issues from cardiac arrest, to high blood pressure, to diabetes, just to name a few. So here is the question – “Should those who deliberately lead unhealthy lives be held financially accountable for that?”
Some legislatures in Germany seem to think so. Marco Wanderwitz, a conservative member of parliament for the German state of Saxony, said it is unfair and unsustainable for the taxpayer to carry the entire cost of treating obesity-related illnesses in the public health system.
